This Sunday we got great news that was long in coming! The Senate passed an omnibus spending bill, approved days earlier by the House of Representatives, increasing by 25 percent the Department of Justice’s funding to assist survivors of human trafficking! The report accompanying the bill specifies that, for the first time, this funding will be available to serve all trafficking survivors in the United States, whether they are foreign nationals or U.S. citizens. We fought hard for these provisions together with our partners in the Alliance to End Slavery and Trafficking (ATEST). Now, the spending bill simply awaits President Obama’s signature.
